SOCIAL DANCING

In term 4 we have been doing social dancing throughout the term with different syndicate teachers. So far we have been to Mrs Mckenzie, Ms Sutton and Mrs Swanson, today we are going to Miss Hakkens. We are still due to go to Mr Saunders and Miss Hakkens. In Mrs Mckenzies class the song is called the Jiffy Mix, in Ms Suttons it is called The Fox but was in a foreign language and in Mrs Swansons it is called The Polka Dance, Miss Hakkens does Thriller and Mr Saunders does The Jibedee. My class does it every Friday. We have lots of fun!

         

GRASSHOPPERS TENNIS

               

This week the inquirers syndicate started playing tennis. Our coach is called Jamie, he teaches us tennis in between school time on Mondays. I enjoy playing tennis and I used to but had to stop. Each class gets a turn together. 

 

 

 

Run, Jump, Throw!!!

 

 

Inquirers have been quite busy since the start of term 4 running try outs for RUN,JUMP, THROW! People have done different sports and showed off what they can do to see if they will get a spot in the interschool RUN, JUMP, THROW! On Tuesdays in the afternoon the whole syndicate comes out and has a go at each sport while the teachers look on and score us. We all hope that we get a place in run, jump, throw! The sports were HIGH JUMP, LONG JUMP, SHOTPUT, DISCUSS, RUNNING and VORTEX. Most of all we have fun!

 

 

 

Sports Exchange

On the 26th of September the seniors at school played against Waikanae for the Frank Van Kampen shield. We lost the cup by losing the hockey, rippa rugby and tackle rugby. We drew the soccer and won the netball. It was exciting and tense watching them play. At the end of the day everyone looked quite bothered and annoyed. I think they all still had fun. 

Cloak of Protection

This card game is quite popular and a lot of years 3 to 8 come and go in Mrs Mckenzies class and Ms Whittakers. It is a game of risk as there are a lot of predators. If year 3 and 4 want to play they go to Ms Whittakers and year 5 and 6 go to Mrs Mckenzies. 

Art Week!



In room 13 this week we made masks and felt monsters. I made a mask that had the theme of a mouse. My felt monster had a green back and a blue front. She was a Cyclops and had a purple tongue. My felt monster has two yellow flowers on her forehead. She has VERY sharp teeth.  

 

Character Parade

On Friday 23rd our school had a book character week. We got to dress up  and pretend to be our favourite book character and parade around the basketball court. I forgot to dress up so I watched other people, a lot of juinors dressed up as spider man and red riding hood. We paraded to music and danced while others had their turn to parade. 

All About Me

 My name is Catherine and I go to Kapanui school as a year six. I play the piano, do vaulting twice a week which happens to be gymnastics on horse back and trampolining. I do trampolining and vaulting at the Kapiti Equestrian vaulting centre. At school my favourite subject is writing and my second favourite is reading.
